Zoho Super-App

 


Zoho and many other companies are trying to create super-apps. These kinds of apps integrate data from several applications and apply advanced machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques when moving between steps. Zoho Analytics is arguably their offering for this though it's fair to consider Zoho's entire suite as a super app type entity.

In my day job, I frequently have to move between Word, Teams, Excel and Google Sheets to properly analyze, synthesize and present information. Zoho is one of many attempts to do that and I wonder if it's better for most people to try to build niche 'super-apps' that can handle workflows for different companies. Companies like Topicus and Softronic come to mind as well. It seems much better to own a pice of calculative process, like owning a portion of the pythagorean theorem, than it is to own anything else. I'm surprised the competition isn't more fierce.

As corporations go, Zoho is definitely on my radar. I just read an interesting piece about Zoho surpassing 80 million users. It's quite the jump from the 100, 000 users they had in 2014. Even before then, they were pitted against giants like Microsoft.

Only time will tell how Zoho fares.

Anti-Hype Machine and A Change to Website

Google has created a robot brain called PaLM-E that can do many different things when people tell it what to do.

 SHORT: Google and some researchers from a university made a new smart robot that can do many things without being told how to do each one. It can see things and understand what they mean, like finding chips in a drawer, and then make a plan to get them.
