WeChat Introduction
Everyone has heard of WeChat. I found it appealing and started to look deeper.
The Chinese juggernaut Tencent Holdings Limited created the text and voice chatting software WeChat. Additionally, it supports voice and video calls. As of March 2018, there were more than 1 billion accounts on the app, which is particularly well-liked in China. Since its international debut in April 2012, it has been available in different languages. The program created by Chinese internet giant Tencent is known as Weixin in Chinese. India is one of the nations included in its global growth in 2013. There are currently 700 million location-based actions generated by the app every day. In January 2011, the application was made available.
Given that WeChat differs from Weibo, a Chinese microblogging site, several social media experts argue that the smartphone application has tremendous marketing potential for businesses as well as for games or m-commerce. For instance, WeChat already outpaced Sina Weibo in terms of Google searches in 2013.
WeChat is infamous for keeping an eye on and controlling the content that its user's trade, even for accounts registered outside of China. It has 300 million members as of January 2013, with 240 million of them being in China alone. The WeChat network had 400 million Chinese users as of July 2013 and 70 million users outside of China. WeChat had 600 million users globally as of October 2013, according to the Chinese news agency Xinhua.
In April 2014, the network kept expanding and went head-to-head with its main rivals, Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp. In particular, it airs two videos with Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook. He meets a psychologist, who suggests using WeChat to find his buddies and establish more and more connections. The app surpasses the landmark of one billion accounts in March 2018.
1.17 billion people were using WeChat in the first quarter of 2020. 902 million people use WeChat every day, according to the most recent figures.
