The Google Chat Option

(formerly known as Hangouts Chat) is a communication tool created by Google for teams that offers direct messaging, team chat rooms, and a group messaging function that enables content sharing on Google Drive, competing with Slack and Microsoft Teams. One of two apps, the other being Google Meet, has replaced Google Hangouts. In October 2019, Google was going to start discontinuing Google Hangouts.
Before it changed its name to Google Chat, the service was known as Hangouts Chat. The Hangouts brand is being eliminated from Google Workspace as a result of the rebranding, which also affects Hangouts Meet (now Google Meet). It will continue to be a product aimed at consumers who use regular Google accounts. While Google Meet included the aforementioned capabilities to update the original Hangouts app, several common Hangouts functionality, such as displaying participants and simultaneous conversation, remained out of date.In order to give preference to participants who have used their microphone the most recently, the number of video streams that can be played at once has been decreased to 8 (although up to 4 streams can be displayed in a "mosaic" style). Additionally, rather than scaling them to fit, features like the chat box have been changed to overlay video feeds.
This is what made it a set of advantages, and through my experience with it, I will mention the following:
Chat :Direct conversation with individual contacts.
Chat room : To exchange information or documents, hold discussions in groups or on certain subjects.
Bots : Integration of external applications, e.g. Asana, Trello…
Link with Google Workspace : Direct access to your files and documents through Google Drive, Google Meet, and the Gmail link.
Link with Gmail : Preview, notification and direct link to Google Chat messages in Google Mail.
Use Google Chat on a computer or mobile device as well; in my opinion, this feature sets it apart from others. I used it in both directions:
Using Google Chat on a PC
On a computer, there are three ways to use Google Chat:
Gmail : Activate your web browser and log into your Gmail account. You may see a preview window of your direct messages and Google Chat rooms on the left, underneath your inbox menu. Click on the mosaic icon in the top right corner to launch the program in its own window. The Google Chat logo can be found in the overview by scrolling down. Google Chat will launch in a new browser tab or window when you click on it.
Navigator :When you click the mosaic icon in the top right corner of Chrome, Google Chat is accessible under Google services. The Google Chat URL can also be used to access and utilize it straight in any browser.
Progressive Web App (PWA) : Utilizing Google Chat as a progressive web app is an additional strategy. Launch Chrome and log into your Google account to accomplish this. Then select "Install Google Chat" by clicking on the three vertical dots icon in the top right corner.
Using Google Chat on mobile devices
You may use Google Chat on your smartphone or tablet with the complimentary app that is offered for iOS and Android in the Google Play Store or App Store. If you have an Android device that is recent, Google Chat might already be pre-installed.
And I appreciate having the option to personalize my Google Chat experience, such as changing my image or choosing which push alerts I wish to receive.
Change your avatar:
You must be logged into your Google Account in order to use Google Chat. Your Google Account's avatar is the one that shows up in Google Chat. Setting up push notifications:

As users of Google Workspace, we naturally have the option to switch over to Google Chat for free from the business messaging service Google Hangouts.
The Google Chat brick is free for personal use, just like Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slide, and Google Drive. One only needs a Google account and to enable Google Chat from Gmail in order to use it.
By accessing the Google Chat website, one can download Google Chat as an application. Additionally, the application has mobile versions for iOS and Android. Downloadable apps from the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store, respectively.
I identified a group of people who agreed with me that it is nice, and the following are some of their thoughts:
➢ With GSuite, it is almost free. The majority of the functions are simple, and it appears that Google is not interested in improving this product. Google Chat cannot be compared to Slack.
➢ What I appreciated most about this product was how it integrated with the Google suite.
➢ I like how simple it is for me to reach out to and communicate with my team at any time.
➢ The tasks function in Spaces is something I've only lately started utilizing, and it's been excellent for our team.
➢ I enjoy using this chat since it integrates with other Google products that I already use, making it simple to exchange information with the team, communicate, and work on projects in real-time.
➢ Very simple to set up, utilize, and flawlessly interacts with everything Google. Easily transitions between using the Internet on a PC and a mobile device. relatively little bandwidth is used. It is also quick and simple to share files.
