How I Discovered CometChat and Why I’m Glad I Did
I absolutely love this CometChat thing. I don’t know anything about computers or programming, but I do know that I searched far and wide for a good chat client. Ever since I was a wee lad, I have loved to chat online with people. Back in the day when MSN Messenger was popular, I used to add people from the chain mails and chat them up. I loved talking to SmarterChild, and I loved talking to my friends. I just loved talking online. There was something special about the informality of it, like our consciousnesses were thrown into one big soup and we could mix at our own pace and without all the trappings of having a body and a society. It was new territory!
Then one day, for some reason, the call of the live chat sounded in my ear, and I started looking again. I first stumbled on https://talk.chat/, where I met a group of Nepalese monks who were chatting online in the morning. I guess the monks also thought a computer-based chat application was good fun. Yet, despite this success the "good" chat clients were few and far between. It would be months before I would find another. Worse, when I returned to TalkChat, the monks were gone.
So, not too long ago, I created a website called chatpage.ca so that I could have my own live chat setup. It would be a dream come true! I could chat to my heart’s content and in any way I pleased. However, it seemed that most companies used the potential of chat more like a carrot than the delicious and nutritious meal it really is. While I won’t go into detail about the companies I found, I will say that no offer struck me as well as CometChat’s.
Firstly, the articles on the CometChat blog actually teach people how to make their own chat tools. For instance, this one titled “How to Build a Chat App with Firebase” taught me (forced me to learn) how to set up an html file, a js file, and a css file, and it walked me through using Firebase which I had only opened a few hours earlier. Though my code didn’t work, I feel like I made a new friend because I emailed the author of the post on LinkedIn and begged him to look at my glitchy code. His article also led me to CometChat.
As I’ve said, I’m not a tech person; I don’t know how to code or anything. Nevertheless, let me tell you, I would be lost if it weren’t for the easy to embed code offered by CometChat on top of their excellent support and sales. They have so many good chat options that it really is plug and play. While I wanted a live group chat room, they also have chat bubbles and customer service options. They have solutions for: dating, edu-tech, live streaming and events, marketplace, on demand and social community among anything you could imagine. You can find out more about the potential uses for CometChat in their FAQ. When I spoke to their sales agent, he also mentioned that CometChat is known to have the best documentation in the industry, and I believe it.
Last but not least, I also wanted to say that I have a feeling CometChat is going places. I did a quick run-through of the top ranked chat services on Google and actively searched for the best companies, and my first impression is that CometChat is the clear winner. They were the fastest, nicest, most informative, and ultimately the best service out there for people who need technology more than they need techno-mastery. I would even consider investing in them if there was another offering. Ultimately, I signed on with them, and I think you should too.
